Anita grew up in a loving household with her parents for 5 years until she became the big sister to Robert III, Lemuel Sr, David, Antoinette, and William. Although she was surrounded by siblings, she also found some of her happiest moments with her cousins, the Pyes, in Tallahassee and Ft. Pierce. It was on one of her summer trips to Tallahassee that she ate so much watermelon that she never ate it again. In Ft. Pierce, she often visited her grandparents ranch house, and spent time with cousins Ramona and Dwanee to name a few. Throughout the years, Anita would always remember birthdays, call you “just because”, and provide a boost to your day simply by sending a text or taking time to listen.
Anita’s formal education began at Hallandale Elementary, and continued to McNicol Middle School. In the 6th grade, Anita met the best friend of her life, Letha Sanders. Their friendship would last a lifetime ... through their graduation from Hallandale High School, the births of their children, and all of life’s many ups and downs. After graduating high school, Anita went on to work at Pantry Pride while studying coding at Sheridan Vocational Center. Ultimately, she would study transcription, and would go on to be a valued employee at Memorial Regional Hospital for 33 years.
Anita had many joyful experiences throughout her life, but none were more so than the birth of her daughter, Amelia, the day that she gained her son-in-law, Livingston II, and the births of her grandchildren, Leilani, Livingston III, and Aaliyah.
On the early morning of February 8, 2021, the joyful, giving presence that is and always will be Anita Adella Jones was called to rest.
