

Loving Mother, Aunt and Friend, peacefully departed this earth at her home on St. Simons Island. GA, January 7, 2023.
Born Betty Anne Throne, February 2, 1926 in Toledo, OH and grew up in Bryan, OH, Bette later married Joseph J. Packo, July 10, 1948 and moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1951 to begin their life together.
As a Photojournalist major at BGSU in N. Ohio, Bette used her minor in Business to begin her professional endeavors in Real Estate land Development in East Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Melbourne and Naples, FL. In addition to her professional endeavors Bette was involved with The Opera Guild, The Symphony, a lifetime love of Gardening and her lifelong philanthropic work with Prevention of Blindness and working with the blind in Ft. Lauderdale.
Bette was a lifetime faithful worshipper of the Presbyterian Church. Her family and friends made her life the happiest and most fulfilled.
Bette was proceeded in death by her brother E. Stanley Throne WWII officer Army Air Corp killed 1945, brother Oral J.D. Throne (Hazel), parents H. Ernest and Alice Throne, niece Kathryn Throne Brunt(Richard), niece Diana Throne Hilliard Marks (John)and loving husband Joseph J. Packo.
Bette is survived by her daughter Jo Anne Packo, son Mark Throne Packo, nephew Jerry D. Throne (Judith) many great nieces and nephews and special family Mamie Lee Smith Clark.
Memorial Services will be held at the Church by the Sea, January 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. 2700 Mayan Dr. Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316. Officiated by Reverend Chris Reny. Following the service, internment and burial will be held at Lauderdale Memorial Park, 2001 S.W. 4th Ave. Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33315 and a Celebration of Life Reception at The Riverside Hotel, 620 E. Las Olas Blvd. Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301 from 2-5 p.m.
