Born in Clayton, New York on December 16, 1930, Beverly was the Daughter of the late Victor and Grace (Loveland) Failing. She was raised and educated in Clayton, NY and was a 1948 graduate of Clayton High School. On October 16, 1948 she was united in marriage to Allen A. Cummings. A loving and devoted union of almost 45 years until Allen’s passing on April 25, 1993. Beverly worked as a waitress when she was a young mother in Clayton during the summer and in the 1960’s in Fort Lauderdale. She later was a housekeeper for a few families.
Beverly was bright and quickwitted and loved to sing. She had the greatest joy when she was entertaining with a house full of family and friends around her dinner table. Beverly treated everyone with kindness and equals always. She stood up for and to anyone when she saw injustice especially for her neighbors. Beverly loved to dance, sing and entertain. She was mom to many of her children’s friends. Beverly was awarded a scholarship to nursing school, she had very high grades in science, but turned it down to marry her high school sweet heart and the love of her life in her final days. Beverly was a member of the First United Methodist Church (formerly Park Temple) for over 55 years. She was a member from 1950 until 2007 when dementia set in.
Beverly is survived by her daughter and son-inlaw, Tracey and Robert Carman of Plantation, FL; her son, Terry Cummings of Deltona, FL; her brother-in-law, Adolph Brost, of Mountainhome, PA; her niece, Janis Whitmore and her husband Frank and her nephew, Peter Brost and his Lori all of Mountainhome, PA. Also surviving are several cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Tamara J. Cummings of Fort Lauderdale in 2017, her brother Richard Failing of Clayton, NY in 1963 and her inlaws, Carolyn Brost of Mountainhome, PA in 2020, Eleanor Iles of Ownsboro, KY in 2002 and Ramon Iles of Ownsboro, KY in 2020.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the very kind staff at the W. Broward Rehabilitation and Healthcare for the amazing care shown to Beverly during her time there.
