BELLO, CARLOS EDUARDO SUTER, was born in Miraflores, Lima, Peru, on January 15th, 1944, to his parents, Carlos Bello Escribens and Charlotte Suter. Carlos was born to eternal life in God’s loving peace on the 14th of April, 2015, at the age of 71 in the city of his residence, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He grew up and lived until 32 years of age in Lima, Peru and worked for 19 years in the family business, Carlos Bello S.A. Aduanas, a custom brokerage business celebrating 60 years this past year.
In 1976, due to his mother’s failing health, he moved with her to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he began working in his chosen professional field of Real Estate in which he worked with both love and passion and from which he never retired as owner of Bello Realty, Inc. and Invest Int’l Realty, Inc.
Carlos will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a man of deep faith, a man in whom goodness untiringly dwelt. He was a member of the lay apostolate of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, led by Foundress, Mother Adela Galindo. He was also a consecrated member of the Association of Faithful of Mary Mother Guardian of the Faith and member of their men’s prayer cenacle group at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Lighthouse Point led by Mr. Tom Sheehan.
Sharing time and travel with his family and friends was one of the greatest joys of his life, especially if that time included a meal! A foodie till the end, he followed the travels and dinners hosted by his beloved American Academy of Gastronomy East, Chapter of the International Academy of Gastronomy of which he was the Florida Delegate and his dear friend Dr. Sevi Avigdor served as President. His zest for life and people was contagious and his personality can be best summed up by quoting his words to his doctor. at Moffitt Cancer Center every time he received difficult news to bear, he would say: Dr., “I am still smiling”. His 3 1`/2 month’s stay at Moffitt won him friendships, admiration, and the respect from other patients and caregivers. A terminal, aggressive and unyielding cancer can test the character of the best yet it did not lay a dent in his positive, enthusiastic and kind hearted nature, he never flinched, fought a good fight till the end. He kept his caregivers laughing as well as his closest family and friends even unto desiring to be part of the planning of his funeral which he undertook with consideration for all.
Carlos was survived by his beloved wife, Madeline Ortiz Bello, and cherished step-son John Robert Sampson as well as the four ‘stars’ of his life, his grandchildren, Carl Edward, Paige Angelica, Liam Patrick and last, but certainly not least, his sweet Georgia peach, Georgia Elaine Sampson.
Further survived by his brother, Manuel Antonio Bello, sister-in-law Sylvia Valderrama Bello; nieces and nephews: Jose Antonio Bello, with spouse Jessica; Jose Manuel Bello, with spouse Fátima; niece, Gigi Bello Gómez-Sánchez with spouse, Luis; grand-nephews: Diego, Jose Andrés, and Francisco; grand-nieces: Nicole and Denisse.
