February 19, 1940 – March 27, 2025
Carol Lee Sutton, born February 19, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a longtime resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the daughter of Vivian and Bruce Coon, and sister to Tom and John.
In the 1970s, Carol moved to South Florida, where she raised her four children — Kelly, Karen, John, and Paula. She spent many years in the restaurant industry, admired for her work ethic, dedication, and kind heart.
Carol carried the values of faith, family and grace throughout her life. A devoted Catholic, she was strong and caring. Her greatest joy came from time spent with those she loved, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride.
She embraced life’s simple pleasures — to name a few: playing cards, getting her hair done, indulging in chocolate almond ice cream, savoring Bobby Rubino’s famous onion rings, and ending the day with TV, usually an episode of Wheel of Fortune.
Carol is survived by three of her children, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always carry her memory with love. She will be remembered for her warmth, wit and the way she made others feel at home.
Forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing.
