

Edward Joseph Oberle Jr., known affectionately as Ed or Teddy, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023, on his 88th birthday. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many.
Born on September 12, 1935, in Newark, New Jersey, Ed was the first child of Edward Joseph Oberle Sr. and Mildred Duffy. From a young age, he displayed a strong work ethic and unwavering determination that would define his remarkable life.
Ed's academic achievements were notable; he attended Broward College, earning a degree and later pursued further education at the University of Miami. His thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and he eagerly shared his wisdom and experiences with others.
In 1954, fate brought Ed into the life of Salustiana López in New York City while he was in the Military, and they were married on December 26, 1954. Their love story was one of unwavering devotion and deep friendship, lasting an incredible 59 years. Together, they raised four children: Jeffery, Edward, Sinda, and Maria, imparting upon them the values of compassion, integrity, and resilience.
Professionally, Ed was a dedicated and accomplished President of CWA Union. He poured his energy and passion into his work, always striving for excellence. Throughout his career, he made significant contributions to his field, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Ed's unwavering commitment to his craft served as an inspiration to all fortunate enough to work alongside him.
Ed was blessed to retire at the age of 55, granting him 33 precious years to spend with his cherished family. His legacy lives on through his loved ones and the countless lives he touched throughout his extraordinary journey. Edward Joseph Oberle Jr. will be dearly missed, remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
