Elaine Harriet Abernathey of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Samuel L. Abernathey and cherished mother of the late Cheryl Brandy (Armand); Colleen Fawley (Michael) and Cory Little (Brett). Elaine was daughter of the late Anna and James Flaherty; loving sister to the late Jamette Miller (late Ken); the late Anna “Betsy” Flaherty; Carole Davey (late Joe); the late James Flaherty (late Aldine); and the late Sondra Flaherty.
Elaine was a precious grandmother to Chelsea Derco (Josh), Alyson Ryan (Eric), Reed Fawley (Hope), Andrew, Christian and Chloe Little. She was blessed with seven great grandchildren, Bella and Aiden, Everett, Della, Callen,Theo and Pierce Elaine Ryan. To her many nieces and nephews she was the gentle Aunt Elaine. She devoted her life to family, putting the needs of others ahead of her own without losing her sense of self. Patient beyond measure, she was an example of quiet strength, sharp intellect and good humor. For her family, home was wherever Gramma was. She will forever be cherished. Consistent with her private nature, no formal services will be held
