

He was born at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C. on August 10, 1977 to parents Francisco Colón and Elba Rosa Colón. He first attended Glen Burnie High School before moving to Florida and graduating from Plantation High School. He received degrees from both ITT Technical Institute and Broward College. At the time of his death he was enrolled at Florida State University pursuing a degree in Computer Science.
He grew up in Glen Burnie, Maryland and lived his adult life in Plantation, Florida.
During his younger years he was an active youth member of Glen Burnie United Methodist Church. He played little league baseball and basketball. During high school he played several sports - including football, track, and wrestling. He was a talented musician – playing the violin and saxophone from elementary school until mid-high school. As a teenager he also dabbled in theatre and choir at his church. As a young adult, he taught himself how to play the guitar; entertaining his close friends whenever he had the chance. He loved music, it was a huge part of his life – as a musician and as a fan.
His adult life was filled with the joy of his children and his pursuit of higher education. He loved spending time with his children, family and friends. He was becoming more active with Kids In Distress charitable work; he absolutely adored children.
He had a contagious smile and dimples that would light up a room. He was a man with charm and people were drawn to him. Frank had such a playful spirit and was extremely generous; always willing to help those around him, without complaint or hesitation. He was a unique and selfless soul.
He is survived by his 2 children: his daughter, Marisa Elena Colon and his son, Tyler Francisco Colón. His immediate family includes his parents, Frank and Elba Colón, his older brother Victor Francisco Colón, his twin brother Luis Francisco Colón, his younger sister, Rosanna Marie Colón, and his nephew Steven Robert Sistrunk. He also leaves behind the love of his life, Kimberly Ann Pomper; whom he intended on marrying.
