July 9, 2022 marks a very sad chapter in the history of our lives. It is the day you said goodbye to us. We know you had been ailing for a while, but that does not make your passing easier. Minta and I last saw you in December, 2021, when we came to see you. You could not speak with us, but you understood what we were saying to you. Today you are no longer here with us but we stand in celebration of a life well lived. Your care and compassion that you have shown to all your siblings will remain with us.  We want to let you know that the gifts we received back then may have seemed very small by today’s standards but I can say that it meant a whole lot. We want to say thanks for being our brother, thanks for being there when we needed you most. You brought a lot of laughter to our family gatherings; it was not the same when you were not there. Your siblings left behind are deeply saddened but you will forever be in our hearts. Sleep on brother. See you later.  Your Siblings:

Uncle Geff, such fond memories of spending the day with daddy at your gas station in the Bronx in the summer time on break from school. You were always warm and inviting. I remember watching the ball drop at your home as 2000 rolled in. I thought, how corny my life was to be spending  new years eve with my mother, aunt and uncle. But thinking back spending that time with family is the memories I will have forever of you. As I grew older, I admired how much of a savvy business man you were from a far, and teaching your girls the entrepreneurial spirit as well. Not asking the cousins how is "Auntie P and Uncle Geff"  is going to take some getting used to, but I'm happy your in a better place. 
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." -2 Corinthians 4:17-18

My beloved father gave me so many gifts.  A love of music is one. He used to always listen to jazz on Sundays in Jamaica and introduced me the music of Nina Simone. He used to get so upset when he recounted for me that she was boo’ed by the crowd when she once performed in Jamaica. I played these songs for him in his final days. I also played for him “I will always love you” by Whitney Houston. He loved her voice and he perked up listening to this song when I played it for him the week before he passed. I also remember when I was child, spending my summers driving all over the island with daddy when he was selling insurance. This is when I really saw and came to love all of Jamaica and her people. Thank you for that daddy and all the gifts you bestowed on us. You were the best father a person could ever have. And I will always love you, Tanya
