George W Geyer Jr.

George W Geyer, Jr, age 86 of Plantation, FL, born in Pgh, PA. passed away April 28, 2017. Devoted husband for 63 years to Jeanne Geyer and father to Patti Geyer (Patrick Roberts) loving grandfather to Lizzi, Kris & Shelli (Brian Galbraith) and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Alex & Katie.

George has an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice & Doctorate in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

George proudly served this nation, in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1971 attaining the rank of Major. As a decorated veteran, he served in Korea and Vietnam during hostilities. At the time of his retirement he was the USMC Assistant Director of Security & Law Enforcement at Headquarters Marine Corps. From 1971 to 1995 George served the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, in South Florida, in management, investigative, operational, and intelligence positions.

George is a graduate of the 67th Session of the FBI National Academy. George was a proud member of the Sudan Shriners of New Bern, N.C and Masonic Grand Lodge of Virginia. Once retired George enjoyed traveling with Jeanne and enjoying his grandchildren.

A private graveside memorial service will be held at a future date.
