

George R Stewart, of Davie, FL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22.2020. He was 87. Born to Edwin S. Stewart and Beatrice L. (King) Stewart on January 20, 1933 in Bar Harbor Maine. George grew up in Bar Harbor, Maine. He graduated from Bar Harbor High in 1950. George married Elizabeth L. Dolliver in 1952. After marriage they moved to East Hartford, CT where George attended Hartford Regional Technical School where he majored in radio, television and electronics. George was one of the first TV repair men in the CT area. George worked at Kaman Aircraft, Bloomfield, CT until 1971 as a electrical engineer. George moved to York Beach, Maine. where he became employed at the Portland Naval base in Portland, NH as a mechanical planner. George retired in 1998 and moved to Davie, FL George was an avid sportsman, he helped his high school team, Bar Harbor High Black cats win the intramural championship in 1950. Through out his life George enjoyed playing golf where he hit several hole-in-ones, bowling where he scored multiple perfect 300 games and flying his model airplanes and drones. George was a great handyman, he could build and fix anything. He was the neighborhood handyman for many years. George is survived by his children, Jeanne M. Bostock and husband Blane of Port St. Lucie, FL, George R. Stewart Jr and Wife Cindy of Palmer, MA, Debra A. Slone and husband Donald of Leesburg, FL, George was pre-deceased by daughter Lisa A. Wilson of Ellenboro, NC. Grandchildren Jaimi Rodriguez of Ludlow, MA, George Stewart III of Lakewood, CO, Gary Stewart of Monson, MA, Susy Stewart of Palmer, MA, Michael Bostock of Windsor Locks, CT, and Jason Bostock of Granby, CT. 9 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-grandchildren. George is also survived by his partner of many years Edith Gillespie and good friend Bill Forlani.
