

George Q. Yocca, 91, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, September 23, 2017. George was born and raised in Windber, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Navy where he served in World War II. After the war, George moved to South Florida where he met his wife, Shirley. They were married on June 9, 1956, and remained happily married until Shirley passed away in 2015. George worked as a machinist at Uniweld for thirty years until his retirement.
George is survived by his brother Peter; his three sons Dennis and wife Rita, Phillip and wife Lori, and Steven; his six granddaughters Leslie and husband James, Ashley, Niki, Amy and husband Clay, Jennifer, and Tara; and his great-granddaughter Sadie.
George was preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Gesaria Yocca, his wife Shirley, his son Gregory, and his siblings Alexandrine, Mary, Sam, Nick, Anthony, Edward, Martha, and Loretta.
George was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be forever missed.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens South (ForestLawnSouth.com), 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue (Davie Road) in Davie, Florida. The funeral service will be held immediately thereafter at 10:30 a.m.
