Glenda Dobson

Glenda Idella Hill Dobson was born on April 27, 1948 in Prince George Virginia and moved to Florida in 2015. She was the oldest of five children born to the late Mollie Elizabeth Hill White. Her 4 living siblings include: 3 sisters; Valerie Hudson of Hopewell, Virginia; Davine Irving, LTC USA Retired and husband Anthony Irving of Gainesville, Virginia; Velvet Cooper and husband William Cooper III of Pembroke Pines Florida; and brother, David J. White of Anchorage Alaska.

She had 2 children: Sean Lewis preceded her in death and her son James Lewis reside in Petersburg, Virginia. Other family members left to cherish her memories include: Karen E. Coleman, special God-given daughter; 2 grandchildren: Keyonte’ P. Coleman, grandson, Shakeya S. Bethea, granddaughter: 2 great grandsons: Korron Shaun Bethea preceded her in death and Jeryon Sean Bethea. She has 4 nieces: Gia, Monique, Crystal, Tina; 2 nephews: Leland, Roshaun; and multiple great nieces and great nephews. She also has a lot of close friends in Virginia.

Glenda retired after greater than 30 years at Honeywell where she was a machine operator, later promoted to a supervisor and ended her career as a Trainer. Her religious life was nurtured at Friendship Baptist Church in Hopewell, Virginia. At Friendship Baptist, she served as a missionary, was in the choir and did the announcements.

Glenda loved to play bingo, sing and dance. Her favorite singer was Prince and she loved the “oldies but goodies.” She was a member of a bowling league at Honeywell. She loved animals and in Virginia she had her own little Private zoo made up of birds, fish, a cat and dogs. She loved the M&M characters and had a collection that will be displayed at her service. Her love of plants allowed her home to be a jungle sanctuary. Glenda also crocheted and knitted blankets and doll dresses for family and friends. While in Florida she enjoyed going to the beach and sitting outside in the sun.

She loved the Lord with all her heart and will be dearly be missed by many.
