Grace Olga Rich
6 diciembre , 1928 – 20 octubre , 2020
Grace Olga Rich, the youngest daughter of the late Hamilton Rich Sr. and Elizabeth Sanders Rich departed this life on Tues-day, October 20, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. Grace was educated in the Honduran Spanish school system and later migrated to the United States (US) and established residency in New York city in the late 1950s.
As a young woman, Grace held several jobs to support her family who were mostly living in Honduras. Most notably, her job as a machinist allowed her to purchase a home and eventually help her brothers and their families to migrate to the US.
Grace was a very kind and humble person with a big heart and was willing to go out of her way to help everyone. She had an outgoing personality, and was loved by everyone who came in contact with her. Grace was our hero and we could never repay her for the endless sacrifices and unwavering love and support, which was evidenced by her housing us upon our arrival to the US. Grace was a trailblazer and leaves an unparalleled legacy that we can only hope to live up to and make her proud. She will be forever missed.
Grace was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Alexander, Hamilton Jr., Alfoncina, Joyce, Winston, Roy Sr., Randolph, Lincoln, Fitzgerald and Anthony. Grace leaves to cherish her memory: her nieces and nephews, a host of Grand and Great grand nieces and nephews, her sisters in-law Cyrina Rich, Shirley Rich and Carolyn Rich, her church members and her dearest friend, Pat Logan.
God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be, So he wrapped his arms around you and whispered, “come to me”. You didn’t deserve what you went through, so he gave you rest, God’s garden must be beautiful, for he only takes the best. And when he saw you sleeping so peacefully and free from pain, we could not wish you back, to suffer again.
