Born on July 7, 1940, in Haiti, Guy lived a life marked by strength, dignity, and joy. A proud veteran of the Haitian Army, he carried himself with discipline and honor throughout his life. He held multiple positions but enjoyed working as a bus driver for children with disabilities. He was a man of presence—clean-cut, composed, well dressed and filled with quiet pride. Yet, he was equally known for his sharp sense of humor, ability to make others laugh, and his deep love for entertaining those around him.
Guy was multilingual, speaking French and Haitian Creole, and had a great appreciation for multicultural music—from Haitian kompa to classic soul. Music was always playing in his home, just as laughter was always close by. His favorite dish, lovingly remembered by all who knew him, was a plate of white rice, black bean sauce, and légumes, a staple he enjoyed with pride.
Above all, Guy was a devoted father and grandfather. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each carrying his strength, his spirit, and his values forward.
He is survived by his loving children: Anna Nicolas Denis and her husband Frantz Denis, and daughter Daphne Nicolas, and great-grandson Maximilian Rowe; Nadeige Octavius and her husband Elympse Octavius, and their sons Anthony Joseph Octavius, Aidan Kavon Octavius, Noah Elympse Octavius, and Bryce Owen Octavius; Claudia Innocent, and her children Britnee C. Innocent and Nathan Innocent. Daughter:Jennifer Nicolas and her children.
Niece : Jennifer Morilien Seide and husband Frantz Seide with daughters Kara Pierre-Jules & Farah-Lynn Seide.
Sister-in-Law: Marie Carmelle Jean, Yollande Rita Basile, Jeannine Badio, Missole Jean (AKA Manman Noel). He is also survived by his brother Gerard Nicolas, cousin Yves Nicolas, nephew Reginald Nicolas, and grandson Jean Reginald Nicolas.
Guy Nicolas lived with purpose, laughed with ease, and loved without limits. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his discipline, his joy, and the powerful legacy he leaves behind.
My father’s favorite quotes are too many to cite but he loves his proverbs and he was also a dedicated Freemason, a role he held with deep respect, rooted in values of integrity, brotherhood, and service.
The family of Guy Nicolas would like to thank The Sunrise Health and Rehabilitation Center work friends and family of Claudia Innocent for your ongoing prayers and support. And all other family, friends and neighbors for your continued prayers and support .
