On Monday, August 9th, 2021, our father James L. Manos, 71, known to many as “Jimmy,” passed away peacefully in his sleep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was a caring father, son, brother, partner, and friend. He is survived by many loving individuals, including his daughters, Katina Manos and Kara (Curtis) Ferguson; cherished sibling of Ardie Cook, Johanna (Sam) Stefanelli, George Zarbough, and the late Suzanna and John Zarbough Jr.; beloved “son” of the late Alice Zarbough; mother Mary and step-father Howard Gitlin; former wife, Vicky Manos; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by his partner of 15 years Debbie Campbell.
He was a wonderful caregiver for several years. Prior to being a caregiver, he held many other jobs including a bank manager, an umpire for baseball recreation leagues, and a floral delivery driver.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jimmy. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going on long walks and never missed the latest edition of the Almanac. He was a dedicated trivia buff and an active participant every time he watched Jeopardy. He also had an immense love for Western movies and D.C. sports teams.
In lieu of flowers, please make contribution in memory of James Manos to the Dementia Society of America by mail to PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or online www.DementiaSociety.org/donate
We are working on planning a memorial service and will update with that info as it becomes available
It can be a great comfort to a grieving person or family to hear that others thought highly of their loved one, too. If you knew and admired James, be sure to let the family know by writing a few words in the "Memory" section of his obituary on the Kraeer - Fairchild Funeral Home website. www.KraeerFairchild.com
