In our 20’s we used to hang out in a group and Lauren was, always , so elegantly dressed and was definitely the Life of the Party!!  My sincere condolences to you Miss Morris. May your Soul Rest in Peace Lauren. 🙏

I met Lauren in 1979 at a party in Toronto, while she was studying at York University. Lauren was beautiful, elegant, quick witted, intelligent and extremely funny.

Having a good memory with numbers, back then, and trying to impress her, before leaving the party, I asked Lauren to write her phone number on a bit of paper, glanced at it briefly, chewed it and swallowed it. Then I explained to her that having eaten the number, it was now internalized, so I would remember it. My silly stunt amused her.

A couple of days later I called Lauren and a very dear, 46 year friendship began. Over the years we did not often live in the same city or country, but that didn’t affect our friendship, we kept in touch and shared plenty of laughter. 

Lauren had a lot of compassion for the people she served through her social work and they loved her. And she could also be quite assertive, as demonstrated when some of her tenants tried to take advantage of her.

Lauren became friends with my family, she was particularly close with my mother Joy and sister Judith. She also loved my 5 children and they loved their Aunty Lauren. She kept abreast of what they were doing and was proud of their achievements.

I am grieving the loss of my precious friend. I especially miss her when something significant or humorous happens, that I instinctively want to share with her, then remember that I can’t. However I am thankful for the wonderful gift that Lauren was in my life. I can still hear her voice and her laughter when I think of her, and she will always hold a very special place in my heart.

My hope is that Lauren, along with her superhero daddy Frank, are with the Lord, and that I will someday see them again.

My heart goes out to Norma, John, Trecia, Tania, and all other loved ones. I am really sorry that I could not be there for the celebration of Lauren’s life. However I pray that God will comfort all of us who morn, and we will indeed celebrate the blessing of having had her in our lives.

We met each other in the final year of high school in Canada and we immediately connected.  While our journey took us on different paths after graduation, we stayed connected.  Always knowing where to find each other and when it was time to connect and talk.  It was like "ESP!"  You were bridesmaid at my wedding,  planned my first baby shower and followed the journey and milestones of my 3 children.  Whenever we met, it was music, dancing and laughter...... mostly by ourselves until we were exhausted.  
Lauren, I am so glad that we spent time together last year and I am deeply sorry that we did not get to keep our planned visit,  which would have been 2 weeks ago.   You are gone because it was "your time" and God called you home.  Your memory will live on and you will be missed.  May you now find "ALL" the peace and happiness that may have eluded you in your life's  journey.  RIP my Sister/Friend.

Lauren how can I say that this has taken so long to process your passing...I am in shock ...Rest in forever peace my dear friend...I miss the many happy hours we spent over the past years at Blue Martini..and the laughing, frustrations and good times and of course the 1/2 price lamb shops..you used to call and say  1/2 price today lets go... We shared so many confidences and always laughed  saying your secret is safe with us..they will go with us to our graves...The other day I saw an ECHO sign on thed back of a car in the parking lot up here it was your logo.. and I thought of you immediately  and how excited you were to get your business started for housing  and the community housing goals you set ..so strange maybe it was your way of saying good by or even I finally got there to visit...
So many memories over the years..I sill have your conversation after I moved to Port ST Lucie and making plans to come up for the weekend and do happy hour..that never came to be...
Lauren you will be missed so...I can keep babbling on and on..but most oif all I will miss you terribly my friend...so I like to say farewell to you with my favorite saying  "to everything there is a (season )reason and a time for every purpose under heaven..a time to be born and a time to die....a time to weep and a time to laugh..a time to mourn and a time to dance.."  Peace to you my friend...I am so glad you found love...it was time..

I am John Tucker, Lauren was my soulmate and wife to be this year.  We have lived together for 3+ years.
She had no major medical issues and passed in her sleep next to me without trauma.
I am still in major shock and trying to deal with her loss.
May she rest in comfort in God's arms until I can join her.

I entered the gates of Convent of Mercy Academy in 1970, full of anticipation and excitement, and there, in the very first years of my high school journey, I met Lauren. We shared our first and second years in Room 104 and 204. It’s a little ironic when I reflect on those early days—while Lauren was the epitome of grace, well-behaved, and hesitant to break any rule, I somehow seemed to spend more time in Sister Bernadette's office than I did in class! But despite our differences, there was a bond that formed between us.

I can still picture those moments in the classroom with  dear friends—Elizabeth, Donna, and Lauren. And when we entered our third year of high school, Angela joined our group, making our circle complete. Life was different back then, simple and carefree, but those moments were a life well lived, filled with memories that I still cherish today.

After high school, Lauren moved to Canada, and as often happens with time and distance, our lives drifted onto separate paths. Yet, the bond we shared never truly broke—it remained strong, just quietly waiting for the right time to reconnect. That time came with our 40th reunion, a bittersweet occasion, especially since Donna had already made her transition. Reuniting with Lauren, however, was nothing short of magical. It felt as though no time had passed at all. The years melted away, and we were back in each other’s lives as though we'd never been apart.

Though our lives took different directions, Lauren’s kindness, warmth, and presence remained a constant in my heart. Her friendship was one of those rare treasures that, no matter how much time or distance separated us, never lost its value.
