Lois F Hurlbert

Lois F Hurlbert, age 94, on August 5th, 2024 after residing in her home in Oakland Park, FL for 55 years. Entered her eternal home with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Lois was born in Saltville,Va. to Ritchie Ferguson and Mazie Morgan on December 27, 1929.

She never completed high school due to caring for her mom. She married Rudolph Hurlbert and was a stay at home mom after having 2 children, Pamela and Mark, in Va., moved to Ft.Lauderdale FL where Sheri was born.

Lois became a single mom, went back to work, learning shorthand and secretarial management for Commercial Real Estate Brokers. She became a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed decorating each room in her home and later did some floristry.

Lois is survived by her daughter Sheri and husband Gene Hyde, grandson James Cody (Chris).

Lois was preceded in death by her father Ritchie, her son, Mark (Debbie Cody) eldest brother Richard (June) mother Mazie, daughter Pamela, sister Rachel Louise (Bill Ewing) brother Edward (Evangeline) and great cousin Herbert Spraker (Lorraine).

Lois’s heart went out to the poor and needy amongst children battling cancer at St.Jude’s Children's Hospital. We give our sincere thanks and appreciation to Vivienne Williams who cared, respected and sacrificially loved Lois for almost 3 years.

A Memorial Serviced will be conducted at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Lauderdale, FL on Friday August 23 at 10 AM in the sanctuary. A reception will following in the narthex.
