Eyrich, Loren Lee, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2016. Predeceased by his father Ronald Eyrich, mother Florence Eyrich, and sister Sylvia (Henry)Wieck. He is survived by his sister Patrice (Scott) Miller, niece Amy Wieck (Brent Thomas), niece and goddaughter Holly (Scott) Lindquist, nephew Craig (Lauren)Miller, great nephews Dylan and Blake Lindquist, and great niece Natalie Lindquist. Also survived by many loving cousins and devoted friends.
Born on May 16, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI, he shared a birthday with our Mom. He graduated from Brookfield Central High School in Brookfield, WI and went on to study accounting and business at Univ WI Whitewater. After visiting FL on spring break with three high school buddies, he decided to make Ft Lauderdale his home. Shortly thereafter, his parents and sisters followed him.
Loren used his talent for accounting and his love of cars to quickly move up to comptroller of Ed Morse Chevrolet, where he worked for 20 years. He then pursued his love of travel and writing for the next 10 years. He traveled the backroads of the eastern United States, interviewing people he met along the way in their interesting lives, and publishing a newspaper called Two Lane Roads. His likable and easy-going personality enabled him to engage conversations with many unique persons. He traveled for 6 weeks at a time in his RV, which he nicknamed the COW (condo on wheels). He also took a long roadtrip in the RV to Alaska, which he loved. When he was stricken with colon cancer in 2001 and traveling got a bit harder, he returned to accounting again for a few years, at Southern Auto Finance.
Loren always served in his church, First Congregational Church, and in later years Church on the Hill. He greeted, ushered, served as deacon, and tirelessly did the finance and budgets for the finance committee. For many years, he ate out twice a week with his many friends from both churches.
Loren enjoyed boating and waterskiing, and refinished a junkyard 1939 Oldsmobile from top to bottom, restoring it to its original beauty.
Loren was honest, gentle and kind to all he met, and was loyal and loving to his family. He always looked at the positive side of things, and enjoyed a good sense of humor. We will miss him terribly, but are thankful that he is all healed and in the presence of his Lord and all those loved ones who have gone before.
There will be a visitation at Kraeer Ft Lauderdale, 4061 N. Federal Hwy, 33308 on Thursday, Feb 11 from 2-4 and 6-8. On Saturday, February 13 there will be a memorial service at 11 am at Church on the Hill (Congregational Church of Boca Raton), 251 SW Fourth Avenue, Boca Raton, Fl 33432.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a special pew fund (the Bonnie and Loren Pew Fund) at the Church on the Hill. Both Bonnie in a wheelchair and Loren in a powerchair passed away the same week, and this will be a project to make two pews accessible to disabled individuals
