Lorraine Shaban Miller, a beloved matriarch, was born in Petersburg, Virginia, on December 12, 1946. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1965 and was crowned Miss Petersburg in 1966, going on to compete in the Miss Virginia pageant that same year. While attending Radford College, she met Craig Miller—often winning dance competitions together—and in 1967 they were married. They soon made their way to South Florida, where they built a life together and raised their family.
Lorraine had a strong desire to keep learning and growing, eventually earning her degree in criminology from Florida Atlantic University.
She built a successful career at American Savings and Loans, working her way up to Regional Vice President, and later worked alongside Craig to grow Miller Consulting. She was driven, capable, and took pride in everything she did.
But more than anything, Lorraine lived for her family. Her grandchildren knew her as “Momoo,” and they were the center of her world. She adored them—completely and without hesitation—and spent as much time with them as she could. She showed up, she stayed close, and she made each of them feel deeply loved. That was who she was.
Her faith in Christ was something she carried with her throughout her life. She often shared that she felt His presence strongly, even as a little girl, and that sense of faith stayed with her over the years, guiding her and giving her peace.
She was deeply proud of her Lebanese heritage and carried that with her as a first-generation American.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Craig.
She is survived by her son, Mark, and his wife Sonia; her daughter Michelle and her husband Jim; her grandchildren Cheyne and his wife Brooke, Chelsea and her husband Chase, Chase and his fiancée Maddie, and Nina; and her great-grandchildren Ansley, Sadie, Landon, Weston, and Beckett. She also leaves behind her niece Dana Kelly, nephew Randall Texeira, their children Brittany, Brooke, Taylor and Daniel and many other family members who will miss her deeply.
While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is whole again, at peace, and in the presence of Christ—reunited with her sister Mona, her mother, brother-in-law and her husband.
