This service celebrates the remarkable life of Marc Antoine Bien-Aimé, a man who touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit. Marc fell asleep in death at Miami International Airport, while en route to his hometown of Léogâne, Haiti.
Marc was born on December 3, 1942, in Léogâne—known as the City of Anacaona—to Clédanor Bien-Aimé and Marie-Célimène Dor. He was raised by his devoted mother and stepfather, Saint-Armant Moïse, and later reunited with his biological father after completing high school. His academic journey began at République du Paraguay for elementary school, continued at École Saint-Yves for middle school, and culminated at Lycée Alexandre Pétion, where his teachers often praised his intelligence and brilliance.
Marc’s creativity and leadership emerged early in life. In 1966–1967, he formed a mini jazz band called “La Sagesse” with close friends, entertaining and inspiring his generation. After the group disbanded, Marc managed his father’s store in Léogâne and pursued his passion for horology, opening a small shop dedicated to repairing clocks and watches.
Marc’s personal life was rich and deeply meaningful. His search for lasting love came to an end in 1970, when he met Marie Nicole (née Augustin) while working as an Admission Coordinator at the General Hospital of Port-au-Prince. Their bond began after Nicole received treatment for injuries sustained during a failed coup d’état, and it soon blossomed into a lifelong partnership. Together, they built a life filled with love, resilience, and adventure.
Marc was a loving father to: Hanz Bien-Aimé, Marie Ange Martin, Antione Bien-Aimé, Paul Guetty Bien-Aimé, Wendy Colomathi, Catuscia Clerie, Stanley Bien-Aimé, Stacey Bien-Aimé, Marco Bien-Aimé. He was also a devoted grandfather to: Christ Hevans Bien-Aime, Don David Bien-aime, Christian Bien-Aime, Ashley Bionca Michelin, Jonathan Elijah Martin, Giovanni Bien-Aime, Gianna Bien-Aime, Jacob Bien-Aime, Fabien Bien-Aime, Myles Bien-Aime, Dimitrie Lewis, Kobe Colomathi, Jashawn Vassell, Karter Bien-Aime, Savannah BienAime, and Cameron Francois. Great grandfather to Don Bryan Bien-Aime
Professionally, Marc served with excellence as an Admission Coordinator from 1970 to 1973, ensuring efficient patient care and hospital operations. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to open a pawn shop and later to form another musical group, “Les Ships,” in the Thorland neighborhood.
After marrying Marie Nicole, Marc and his family emigrated to the United States in early 1976, initially living with Nicole’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mathel Thomas. With the guidance of his father-in-law, Marc secured employment and worked at European Leisure and Fashion in New York City.
In February 1988, the family relocated to Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, later moving to Miramar, and eventually Ave Maria, Florida. Their beautiful journey together was forever changed when Nicole passed away in September 2023. Following her passing, Marc returned to his father’s farm in Léogâne, undeterred by Haiti’s instability, and continued traveling between Haiti and the United States for several years.
Marc was widely known for his unconditional love, generosity, and zest for life. He gave freely to family, friends, and even strangers, never expecting anything in return. He lived fully and purposefully, maintaining his sharp mind, quick wit, and warm humor until his final days.
In the last few months of his life, Marc began reading a book titled “Bible La,” written in Creole. Upon learning the name of the true God—Jehovah—he devoted himself to reading day and night. His heartfelt desire was to return to Haiti and teach others about Jehovah and His Son, Jesus Christ. Marc developed strong faith in the true God and placed complete trust in the hope of the resurrection.
With confidence and hope, we believe that Jehovah and Jesus will remember Marc and reunite us all in paradise, as promised at Luke 23:42–43.
With profound love and gratitude, we remember our beloved father, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend, whose life was a shining example of love, faith, compassion, and generosity. His legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
