

Margalie Pepe was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti to Vernielle and Sylvia Pepe on June 17th. In 1961, Margalie, along with her beloved grandmother Olivia Joseph, and two older sisters, Mireille and Jocelyne emigrated to New York City to join their parents. Although originally a native of Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the past 25 years. She passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.
Margalie affectionately called “Maggie” by dear friends and family, attended Fourteen Holy Martyrs parochial school in Brooklyn, Clara Barton High School, and Keane College in New Jersey. Following her move to New York City her passion was to become a journalist. Being a compassionate caregiver by nature Maggie also desired to work in the healthcare field, and as a result she trained to become a Phlebotomist and Emergency Medical Technician (‘EMT’).
Maggie married Jean Robert Pierre in December 1978 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. That marriage produced three children, a son Robert Aaron Pierre, and two daughters: Rachel Marie Pierre (pre-deceased), and Kathleen Marisa-Ashley Pierre.
Maggie was very industrious and entrepreneurial, she was the successful owner of several businesses that included, Through Maggie’s Eyes (photography), Maggie On The Go, Dining with the Homeless, and Caribbean Flavor of Miami. In addition, Maggie loved photography and was dubbed the family’s official photographer.
Maggie is preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Marie Pierre, her parents Verneille and Sylvia Pepe, her grandmother Olivia Joseph, her aunt Angele Toussaint, and her brother John “Johnny” Pepe. Maggie is survived by Jean Robert Pierre, her children Kathleen Pierre and Robert Pierre and his spouse Nicole Fields-Pierre, Joppa Lequa Bridges and her grandchildren Javon Dwayne Bridges, Anaiya Kimora Warren Pierre, Tyler Felix Warren Pierre, Ricardo Lawrence Bryan Jr., Aiden Clive Bryan, Harmoni Rachel Marie Bryan, Liam Bobby Bryan, who always referred to her as “GIGI” a name she cherished. Maggie was especially close to her Godchildren, John “Johnny” Pepe (pre-deceased), Natalie Leroy Vialva, Shola Lawal, and Gabrielle Andrews, a role she adored. She is also survived by her beloved dog Bella.
Additionally, Maggie is survived by her sisters and brother: Mireille Leroy, Jocelyn Lawal, Rodney L. Pepe-Souvenir, Susie Pepe-Sajous, Yolette Pepe, Jacqueline Reid, Steven Pepe, and John “Johnny” Pepe (pre-deceased). Maggie will be missed by her aunt Anne Marie Lamour and Uncle Ramounge Lamour. She will be missed by a myriad of cousins, nieces, nephews, and loyal friends who loved her dearly.
Maggie was known as the angel of the family and would do anything, for anyone, at any time. While we know that she is in heaven, her absence leaves us all heartbroken.
Maggie’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the Cleveland Clinics in Weston, Port St. Lucie, and Seabranch Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral Services will be held (11AM – 1 PM) (Saturday) (December 2, 2023) at (Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens) with the (Pastor Eugene Hill) of (The Faith Center Int.), officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by (Forest Lawn).
