Marie Thérèse Faucher, nee Metellus, was born on June 12, 1925 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She is predeceased by her husband, Max Faucher, and her sister, Simone Metellus. Marie Thérèse completed her general studies and went on to trade school to master her hobby as a seamstress. Her specialty was wedding gowns, lingerie, and embroidered sheets.
Marie Thérèse went on to expand her talents by opening a small factory consisting of 6 employees. In addition to supplying handmade items to the local Haitian market, her fabrics were exported to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe, and Martinique. Marie Thérèse also served as the neighborhood midwife, which she enjoyed a lot.
Marie Thérèse migrated to Montclair, NJ in 1970. She was a hard worker and diligent employee for Hartz Mountain in Bloomfield, NJ. After 25 years of loyal service, she retired back to her native Haiti.
Marie Thérèse Faucher leaves behind her 5 children, Edwin, Frantz, Jocelyne, Gilbert, and Georgette; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and good friends. She will truly be missed by all.
