Marilyn passed away Thursday October 14, 2021, peacefully at home. Marilyn was born in Flushing, New York to Elmer and Marie Cornell.
She moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her parents in her sophomore year and attended Fort Lauderdale High and graduated in 1953. Shortly after graduating she met her future husband Charles (Bill) Boye and they were married on April 24, 1954.
She was a full-time housewife, loving mother of three, and an overjoyed grandmother of eight and great grandmother of four. She also modeled in her earlier years including Jordan Marsh and Burdines Department stores. People that knew her, to this day, still bring up how very stylish she was always dressed. Marilyn was witty, sassy, loving and caring.
Marilyn loved to travel, dance, decorate, shop, play cards, joke around, hug hard and long, sing and be with family. She sang in the choir for ten years at First United Methodist Church in Fort Lauderdale, formerly known as, Park Temple Methodist Church. Marilyn and Bill were active members at the Fort Lauderdale Mahi Shrine Club for 20+ years. She also enjoyed bowling and was on bowling leagues.
She is survived by her two children Donna Boye Marley and Charles (Chuck) Boye, his wife Lourdes, sister Peggy Wynne, eight grandchildren; Joseph Boyce, Jesse Boyce, his wife Heather, Kevin Marley, Jason McDavitt, Jr., Ryan McDavitt, Brooke Marley, Marissa Boye, Olivia Boye, and four great grandchildren Jason McDavitt, III, Harlee Boyce, Nolan Boyce, Nicolas Boyce and niece Deb Randle. Predeceased by spouse Charles (Bill) William Boye (2011) and daughter Bette Boye McDavitt (2021).
A visitation for Marilyn will be held Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. A committal service will occur Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road, Davie, FL 33317. A funeral service will occur Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Davie, FL 33317.
