Michael, you came into our lives all those years ago and I wasn't sure what to think.  You were interested in my Wayne and I was very protective of him as we all were with those in our group.    But it was like you always belonged.  You became a part of us and we never looked back.  We saw how happy you made Wayne and it made us happy.  You are loved by us all and we are happy to have shared all the great times, the laughter and of course a few tears.  I am so glad I got to know you for all these years, for the memories we shared and are kept in my heart.  Please continue to look over Wayne and your family as their hearts are heavy now. Michael, when we first met many years ago now, I was but a stranger to you and Wayne; brought into your life through Gail. When Gail and I walked through the door at your home for the first time you were by Wayne’s side. Immediately noticeable was the light that surrounded your being and the exuberance of love you both shared with each other. I had never up to that point in my life experienced such a welcoming. Michael from that moment in time you treated me like I was part of your family. Your genuine hug in lieu of a handshake I will never forget. Over the years when Gail and I together met up with you and Wayne; your infectious smile, warmth of heart, soothing voice and calming soul gave me reason to believe in all the good man has to offer each other. I love you and Wayne like you are my best friends and brothers. Michael you bear the name of one of the seven archangels; the one closest to God. It is because of whom you are that you’re at the right hand of God’s side, welcoming all as you did me as they enter heaven. I will see you again my good friend and brother ~

No words can express my sorrow ,I can’t even imagine . I will never forget Michael and his smile I actually looked forward to going to pay my rent when he was home ..He would always be so kind and understanding . My heart goes out to his family and knowing he and Dean are together again , they were  the kindest and most pleasant to talk to . I am choosing to believe you are still here with us. Your heart is too big to stop beating. Your presence too felt to truly be gone. Your kindness and friendship too valuable to say goodbye to. You and Wayne were my Bert and Ernie. My first true friends that taught me so much about love and great friendship. And, most importantly, that it was okay to be me, a gay man,  and that I too was allowed to be loved.  

I believe I was a mere 22 years old when I first met you. I still remember sitting on that bar stool at Heartbreakers in deep conversation. You always were the sweetest and the most attentive soul. We shared such fun times and I cherish every second, every moment. You were always a true friend.

Save me a seat ...until we meet again, my friend.

      We had the pleasure of knowing Michael for several years as residents of Jo-Len Village in Massachusetts.  He was always friendly, approachable and helpful with a winning smile and manner.
      Please accept our sincerest sympathy for the loss of a very special and admired person.  Jo-Len residents all around us have expressed similar feelings. 
      Michael and his family will always remain in our hearts and thoughts.   It's nice to know that his life positively impacted so many people in Florida and Massachusetts.  That is a great tribute to him.

My husband, Michael Lefebvre and I met these beautiful people on a cruise in 2012. Through Facebook, we have kept in touch with many of them. When we were in Florida really recently, we met up with some of them again. Some people we just connect with. We assumed that they would all still be around when we return to Florida next year. 😢😰
Our dearest Michael Valchuis: May you be at peace now. Look over those who are left behind. You were a brilliant ray of light. Your presence, love, and smile will be missed.

This news comes with  my deepest  sympathy and sadness. I only knew Michael for a few years,  but those of you who knew and loved him realize it doesn't take long to see what a great friend and person  he was.  I was his personal trainer and I must say he was one of my favorite clients.  The roughly six hours a  month we spent together  I thoroughly enjoyed  his company, conversations, and 100%  effort he gave me in the gym. Michael you will be terribly missed by all! Everyone at EFS Fitness will miss your smile and pleasant personality. Rest in peace my friend!

I only met Michael once but I saw in him a joyous kindred spirit. Having read he loved PEI, it reminded me of a comforting quote from childhood books I use to read.  Anyone with a connection to PEI would recognize it. “It has always seemed to me,  ever since early childhood, amid all the commonplaces of life, i was very near to a kingdom of ideal beauty. Between it and me hung only a thin veil. So many great memories with an amazing friend who I consider family, who will always be remembered and thought of 

Michael loved his Prince Edward Island, Canada summer home which he loved to visit, sleeping in The Room with a View, coming for cocktails at my late husband Murray's and my home  on Panmure Island, (where him and the love of his life Wayne ate their wedding brunch) going for dinner at Dalvay by the Sea, where we drank cocktails on the deck, sat in front of the fire (it was hot there in the summer months but we still loved it!) eating lamb in the dining room, drinking good wine and laughing!  Always laughing always laughing with a smile that would light up the world 💕
My late husband and I were honoured to be part of Michael and Wayne's beautifull wedding day, so special with photos taken on the front lawn at his parents beautiful home by the sea,  with his so very loved Mother Victoria and father Tony 💕
Sharing friendship and cocktails with our very good friends, Bob and 
Marsha Leftwich at their summer estate on Panmure Island, they have now 
retired to their winter home in Florida and send deepest sympathy and 
love  to the whole family.  
I must not forget:    eating lobster and only a few short months ago
Eating lobster on the deck at the boardwalk in Souris, and later that day visiting my nephew Roger and his husband Troy

One of my best memories from school days is when Michael and several friends had a surprise birthday party for me at Tahanto. The janitor(s) were in on it, making their break room available. Michael pulled it together after finding out I never really had a birthday party due to being a week before Christmas.
