Nobuko Takeda-Amoah

14 abril, 1954 – 20 agosto, 2021
Obituario de Nobuko Takeda-Amoah
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens

Nobuko Takeda-Amoah, age 67, died of chemotherapy complications on August 20th, 2021 in Aventura, Florida.

Nobuko is survived by her husband, Divine Amoah of Plantation, Florida; her eldest daughter, Delali Amoah of Yamanashi, Japan; her youngest daughter Emefa Amoah of Rochester, NY; and her big brother Haruo Takeda. She is preceded in death by her father, Shoji Takeda and her mother Kimie Ishibutsu of Tokyo, Japan.

Nobuko was born on April 14th,1954 in Tokyo, Japan, to parents Shoji Takeda and Kimie Ishibutsu. When asked what she was like as a child, Nobuko would laugh and describe herself as somewhat of a troublemaker – never one who liked being told what to do, as a child she could be found “borrowing” her brother’s bike that was much too large for her or speaking up for herself and fellow kids when they were treated unfairly. Fierce independence was only one of her many talents – she traveled Japan as a competitive swimmer, and by her late teens she was on track to become an Olympic swimmer for Japan. By her 20s, Nobuko’s love of swimming, coupled with her never-ending curiosity about what the world had to offer, made it so that scuba diving was front and center in her life; Nobuko and her merry band of scuba divers traveled the world, set on exploring every corner of the ocean they could reach. In 1988, her adventures took her to Miami, Florida and it was here that she met so many of the people who filled her life with light and laughter. Had you asked her then, she would have said that the thought of marriage never crossed her mind, not until her close friend Lucy DiCricenzo told Nobuko about a young man at the Florida Nature and Culture Center that Lucy thought she would like. Lucy’s intuition was right. Nobuko met and fell in love with Divine Amoah, and the couple married December 19th, 1993 surrounded by their friends and family. The couple had two daughters together, Delali and Emefa Amoah. Nobuko was not only a hardworking woman with an endless supply of encouragement, but a mother with tremendous patience, pride, and love for her daughters.

Nobuko was an active member of SGI-USA, where she continued her involvement and dedication to the Kosen Rufu movement. She loved full moons on clear night skies and the little tree frogs that found homes in her garden. Opera and classical music could be heard through the door during her afternoon naps, and her cooking was nothing short of extraordinary. Family and friends will always remember her as an incredible and selfless woman with a tremendous spirit and ready smile.

A private viewing is scheduled for Nobuko on August 28, 2021. The Amoah's had hoped for all to attend and celebrate Nobuko’s life, but the dangers of Covid-19 make this impossible. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all who carry Nobuko in their memories and hearts.
