It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Irons, who left us on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the age of 63. A beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, our Patrick was known for his unwavering kindness, sharp wit, and deep commitment to those he loved.
Born on August 13, 1961, in Plains, Scotland, Patrick was the youngest child of Patrick and Janet Irons. From an early age, he displayed a passion for cooking, history, and travel which continued to shape his life and bring enjoyment to those around him.
Patrick attended the University of Liverpool, where he earned his Master of Business Administration. He went on to a distinguished career in the cruise industry, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike. He was instrumental in the building and continued success of Total Marine Solutions, alongside his wife.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Patrick was deeply devoted to his family and friends. Whether it was hosting a gathering of friends and family, or participating in the maritime organizations which he and his wife were passionate about, he approached everything with enthusiasm and a generous spirit.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Alexandra (Anagnostis); his brother, John Irons and his wife, Pauline (Mitchell); his sister, Linda (Irons) and her husband Tony Kane; his sister-in-law Dia (Anagnostis) and her husband, George Velez; his sister-in-law Niki Anagnostis; his brother-in-law Joe Anagnostis and his wife Tracy (Hayes); tens of nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and dozens of friends from all around the world, who will forever cherish his memory. He was predeceased in death by his brother, Henry Irons and his parents.
In reflecting on Patrick’s life, his brother-in-law, Joe Anagnostis, said Patrick was easy to talk to and became part of our family immediately.
His sister-in-law Dia feels Patrick embodies the gifts of the holy spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord, with a healthy dose of dry humor.
Jena Madden and Nicholas Gianopulos both shared that Uncle Patrick always made them feel like they belonged, were included, and never made them feel like children.
Patrick made everyone feel “seen”.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Seafarers’ House of Port Everglades, an organization close to Patrick’s heart. https://secure.qgiv.com/for/inlovingmemoryofpatrickirons/
Patrick will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. His warmth, laughter, and love have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.
