The Goal Keeper

The goal keeper is A respected warrior in the game of soccer. 
He is Carefully selected with the confidence to be a trusted defender.
But
The game of soccer is not for the faint hearted, nor is it just a game.
It is a game of life, and it cannot be won by the individual player
Or an esteemed offender scoring all the goals. It is won through the collaboration
Of its team mates and
The goal keeper. The goal keeper is the leader, 
Appointed to unify and push his teammates and fight against 
The opponents in hopes to score and win. The goalkeeper is
Also there to protect his teammates if they fail; 
There to brace himself against an opposing team viciously marching at him 
With intent of invading the very goal he protects.

Pedro Delfino, with the experience of a goal keeper, was
The goal keeper of our family, there to unify us
And prepare us for any of the opposing teams this life threw at us. 
We can all learn from his determination, his blunt honesty,
And the sacrifices he has made to ensure that his children were guaranteed 
A great life. I know that he is proud of us, proud to have been surrounded by
His own loving team mates who are now expert players of the game. His legacy 
Lives on through each one of us because someday we will all be leaders of our own families.

But behind the great goal keeper, and behind the legendary Delfino team is the coach, Coach Marines.
She is strongest and most valuable to the team. 
She is there to make sure the game of life is played right 
And that each team mate has the same strength she has to continue playing the game.

Fernando, sentimos mucho la partida de tu querido padre Perucho, nuestras sentidas condolencias para todos tus hermanos y en especial para tu mama. Recibe un fuerte abrazo de tus hermanos Gonzalo y Beatriz

Conocer y compartir con Pepino fue una oportunidad nica. Que Dios lo acoja a su lado y le de fuerzas y resignacin a Marins y a sus seis hijos y familias.

gracias por ser parte muy importante en mi vida..............me ensenaste muchas cosas, en especial la importancia de la familia y la de la sangre........alla estas junto a tus padres y hno............DIOS TE BENDIGA SIEMPRE...........DEJASTE HUELLAS..........

PERUCHO  SIEMPRE TE RECORDAREMOS .Y TE LLEVAREMOS EN NUESTROS CORAZONES  TQM ..

We may not have known your father/grandfather yet from the many stories that were told, we know he was a great, inspiring, loving man. The Lord called an angel to guide and protect all he loves, may he rest in peace in the baby blue sky.

Our condolences to the Delfino Family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

God has taken from us, a magnificent man. A passionate man. He loved his life, Marines, his 6 boys and all his family and grandchildren with the same passion as he lived his life. 
He was a mentor, with an uncanny intelligence. We will all remember his "long plays" with a smile on our face. 
I personally will remember his love of Marines and his carino toward Memo and myself and our boys. 
There is a shining star for us to seach the heavens for, as he is there watching over us all. 
My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Marines, Peruchito, Alejandro,Fernando,Ricardo,Eduardo, and Alfredo and his grandchildren. God Bless you all in this time of loss.

Seor Pedro siempre presencia firme exiga respeto con bonitos momentos y gestos en campo de golf. Se le recuerda bien y buen legado con respetable seora Marines y queridos amigos que se les quiere como HERMANOS.

Sr Pedro fue un placer inmenso conocerlo y ser parte de su familia a la cual me integro con tanto amor, que siempre le agradecere , me encanto haberlo hecho sonreir tantas veces y usted a mi, me enseno muchas cosas y dejo un gran vacio, jamas olvidare sus ultimas palabras conmigo y hare lo mejor que pueda sobre eso. uno conoce muy poca gente como usted en una vida entera, lo admiro por su integridad fortaleza y humildad, lo recordare siempre con mucho amor!!! ( la Rusa)

Dad, rest in peace my dear Dad. You did so much for our family.  I will forever be greatful to you for all the gifts, encouragements, criticisms, advices and the the many things you taughed me.
