Peter John Kartikis “Petey” “Peepa” “Papou” passed away suddenly “from a heart attack.” on March 10, 2021, he was born August 29, 1960 in New Brunswick, New Jersey but spent the last 40 years in Pompano Beach, Florida.
He had two loving parents that meant the world to him, Alice and George Kartikis. Peter is survived by his best friend and wife of 41 years Sharon Kartikis. Sharon and Pete met while both working at Bobby Rubino’s and the relationship only grew from there, into an amazing friendship and loving bond that most don’t ever get to experience. They had so many good times together and built the strongest of relationships and their friends were their family as well.
He was surrounded by a devoted family; his daughters Nicole Kartikis and Lisa Cudney, his granddaughter Brittney Mucino and grandson Jaxon Davis, Son Griffin Davis, two sisters Marianne Andrews and Marisa Dervech and so many more close family members that he deeply cared about and kept them close to his heart. Pete kept all of his family members close and always wanted to be a part of their lives in one way or another; Nieces, Nephews, Brother and Sister in Laws, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Mother and Father in Laws. “Family is Family”
If there is one thing we all know about Pete is that he was a caring friend that would give you the shirt off his back, he loved to make people laugh and joined in immediately if there was a practical joke. He was known as “the cool dad” by so many generations of kids. If you need to be rescued, he would be there in the blink of an eye, you knew you could call him and you would be safe.
He loved going to Nascar races with his best buds and can talk sports with the best of them. He was a thrill seeker and a dreamer at the same time. One minute driving 100 miles an hour down I95 and then the next sitting in a bubble bath with his grandson. Known by many and making an impact on everyone. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, even the clerks at his local stores knew who he was, all about his family and all about his current day to day.
Telling the girl at Walmart about his grandson and the people at Home Depot were asking where his grandson was when he showed up without him in the cart. Going through all his camping gear so his granddaughter was safe on her travels. Family was everything to him and everyone was family. He will be missed immensely by so many.
