Pierre Raymond Girault, known as “Raymond” to family and friends, was born to Leconte and Thelise Girault on January 6, 1934 in Jérémie, Haiti. He was the second of six children. Raymond earned his college degree in Haiti, immigrated to the United States on May 26, 1956 and was living in Brooklyn, New York when he met Luce Pierre Pierre, the love of his life. Raymond and Luce were married on July 1, 1961 and were blessed with four children, Chantal, Didier, Regine and Nadine.
Raymond served in the Unites States Army for two years, started his business career with Robert Hall Clothing Company and later transitioned to the IT industry. As an IT professional, he led a team at Pfizer, Inc., one the world’s premier biopharmaceutical companies, for the duration of his professional career. He retired from Pfizer in 1993 at the age of 59. He then went on to do consulting work, for several years, before fully retiring. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, the game of tennis and spending time with family.
Raymond was devoted to his wife, his children and his extended family. He was a man of integrity, honor and great character, who was loved and respected by many. He departed this life on June 17, 2021 and will be missed dearly.
Preceding him in death were his brothers Carl and Noë Girault. He is survived by wife of 60 years, Luce Girault, his children, Chantal Girault-Nanton and husband Hugh Nanton (Fort Worth, TX), Didier Girault and wife Denise Girault (Fort Worth, TX), Regine Girault (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Nadine Girault (Fort Lauderdale, FL), his grandchildren, Nicolette Nanton, Alexis Barini, Romello Rodriguez, Asia Levy, Kane Girault, Jalen Barini, Kalil Girault, Mikhaël Nanton, Kaitlin Girault, Layla Levy, his great-grandson, Aryan Lewis, his sister, Simone Pierre Pierre (Queens, NY), his brother Jean Girault and wife Jacquelyne Girault (Atlanta, GA), his brother Gamaliel Girault and wife Anne Girault (Queens, NY), his sister-in-law, Andrée Girault and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
The family will receive friends who would like to pay their respects on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Forest Lawn South Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Davie Florida, from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM, with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM. Repass 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM.
