Just found out today that he passed. I have some great memories of Rocco and his beautiful family. Dating back when we were very close when he had his restaurant inside the Clarion Hotel til when he opened Sopranos Cafe on Lincoln Road. Remember I used to annoy him to make his famous Chicken DiMaggio to the point when he made it his father Papi used to criticise if he left any ingredients out. And how how proud he was when his son wanted to be a hockey player. Remember we'd dock at his restaurant in Sunny Isles at Racks and how he always looked forward to what pro athlete I would bring in. I had some great times with you mt friend. I miss you and know we will meet up again some day. Bless.

We would go every week to the restaurant when we lived in Weston. He was always smiling and gave us a hug hello.   We would drive back Just to the restaurant and see him.  He will be missed.    Our prayers are with him

We are shocked to hear this news.   We would dine at Mallardis two to three times a month - for years.    We didn’t know why the restaurant closed - we thought it had gone out of business.    Just now - I was thinking of him and all the memories we’ve made - just to hear this news is so sad and so emotional.    We had countless memories, mothers day, fathers day, birthdays, anniversaries and work dinners.   Hundreds of them.   May you rest in peace my friend.    The heavens are now enjoying the best italian food ...always a gentleman and a fiend - our condolences to the Mallardi Family.

Gina and children: we are so deeply saddened and hurting from this news. What upsets me the most is we saw Rocco the Saturday before and we chatted just like always. I wanted to attend the services but I was traveling. We realize you are in a whirlwind at this time. If you need to cry or scream we certainly are ready to support you in just talking to someone. I am so so sorry to hear on the passing of Rocco... I remember him as a kind and gentle man.  I extend my condolences to the family.   It is a shock to all of us here in Montreal. 

We just got back from Italy to the EXTREME SHOCKI of Rocco's death.
We have known him for many years. Even before Malardi"s.  and before he got married 
He was an amazing kind and thoughtful person. A beautiful family.2  gorgeous children.

Rocco Mallardi, a name that will stand out in my mind forever. Rocco Mallardi in the two hours I knew him for on my visit to Miami, showed me the qualities of an outstanding individual a loving father, a joyous and outspoken entrepreneur,  he exemplifies the words role model. Words can do no justice to how much meeting him for one night left such a lasting impression of his kindness. I like to think he has left us to shine with the other stars in the sky. Rest in paradise to an amazing man, and all of my love to Stefano and the Mallardi family.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Rocco at Mallardi's, he was a friendly and warm person. Not to mention, the food is fabulous! My board of directors and senior staff at Power Financial Credit Union dine at Mallardi's once a month and Rocco was always such a gracious host. We will all truly miss him and are profoundly saddened by his passing. Sending our thoughts and prayers to his family during this difficult time!



My husband Russell and I will miss being greeted by Rocco’s warm smile and hugs.  Mallardi’s was our Friday night favorite.  My heart hurts for Gina and their children.  I was blessed to witness the love they have for one another at the funeral Mass.  Sophia is an amazingly strong young woman!   May God give you all His comfort and peace!

I’m deeply saddened by this news.  Rocco welcomed my family to Weston in the Spring of 2017.  We had just moved here from Baltimore. He welcomed us for Easter with open arms, and I’ll never forget his warmth and generosity.  From one Italian to another, family is everything.  My heart goes out to his, and he was one of a kind.
