I will miss Aunt Rose and the closeness we shared. 

It was my oldest brother Anthony who was the first to come to the United States and he connected with our Uncle Charlie and Aunt Rose who always welcomed us in their home and treated us with loving kindness. As myself and the rest of my siblings came from Jamaica, we settled in and around Queens, New York where the Morris-Jarrett clan were assembled. It was indeed a large extended family that saw us celebrating weddings, births, birthdays and many happy occasions together. At the center of it all, making everyone feel cared about was our Aunt Rose. Forever the matriarch, she set an example we all could follow. I will miss our special moments and great talks together; the last one being a belated celebration of her 101st birthday. We had cake and she insisted on walking me all the way back to my car as I was leaving. I speak for my siblings when I say, farewell Aunt Rose, take your rest now and know you left fond memories on earth. Rest in peace and power.

Aunt Rose was like a second Mom to me after she and Uncle Charley were instrumental in my migrating to the United States from Jamaica in 1965.  They helped me to get a job, and guided me through the process of becoming an American citizen.  I lived with them for 4 years and met my husband-to-be, Neville as they were next door neighbors of his family.  She advised me on many issues as I was going through assimilating onto New York life as well as the ups and downs of an engagement and eventual marriage.  She set the example of caring for a husband and family.  She was a wonderful role model and I will miss her greatly.  May God rest your soul Aunt Rose.  Peace and love, Jem McDonald Flowers

Rose has been missed by her Church family. Our condolences to her family on her passing.  Rose was  an important member of our Church. 

We will miss Rose very much.  Rose sat in the pew in front of my mother - Anna C. Meyerhoffer and me every Sunday at Church.  My mother, who is 99 now, looked forward to coming to church on Sunday's just to talk to Rose.  We, and others from the Church, are  very sorry for your loss.
