Shirley G. Bingman Coffey, 81, of Sunrise, FL, passed away on January 19, 2024. She was born on February 11, 1942, in Cumberland, Maryland, but lived most of her life in Olean, New York. Shirley was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Shirley was known for her spunky and thoughtful nature. She had a kind and generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand. Her love and care for others were evident in her daily interactions. Shirley had a sharp mind and a great sense of humor, bringing laughter to those around her.
In her free time, Shirley enjoyed reading. She found solace and joy in the pages of books, expanding her knowledge and imagination.
Shirley is survived by her children: Robert and Kim (Behun) Coffey, Jeffery and Sherill (Santiago) Coffey, Jacqueline (Coffey) and Michael Porter, and Gregory and Karen (Comeaux) Coffey. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Jessica Coffey, Kasey Coffey, Matthew Porter, Alex Coffey, Daniel Coffey, and Paxton Coffey. Shirley is also survived by her siblings: Brenda Bingman Kosinski, Foster Eugene Bingman, Thomas Yanetsko, Timothy Yanetsko, and Peggy Yanetsko Giberson. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John (Jack) Coffey, her mother, Phyllis Yanetsko, and her father, Foster Bingman.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 2401 SW 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
