Sunny Veil Eckhardt, age 63, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2017 at North Broward Hospital. Sunny was a vivacious woman who loved life, loved her family, and brought light and life to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her father Gib Walker, mother Jacqueline Walker Veil, stepfather Reuben Veil and stepson, Winnie Eckhardt. Sunny is survived by her loving husband, Bernie; brother Russ; stepbrother Rick; stepsister Vicky; stepchildren Siggi and Scarlet and grandchildren Alicia, Aaron, Matt, Christina, Mallissa, Kylie, and Kaylee. She will also be missed by Aunt Katie; niece Jacqueline; nephew Allen, and her beloved yorkie, Nikki.
Sunny was an active member and volunteer in several organizations including Kiwanis Club, Tri-Gate Chapter #276, OES and Citizens on Patrol. A Celebration of Life for this remarkable woman will be held at Christ Church, 4845 NE 25th Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on Saturday, August 12th at 10:30 AM, with reception following. In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials be directed to Broward Health Cancer Patient Fund, 201 E. Sample Rd., Deerfield Beach, FL 33064 c/o Linda Watson.
