Thelma E. Omphroy

Thelma Omphroy, was born in Saint Andrews, Jamaica to Leonie Maria and Herman Lloyd Facey on the 28th of June 1930. She was the youngest of their six children. She had five dynamic older sisters Hazel, Sybil, Beryl, Olive, and Dorothy. She worked as a dental assistant for many years and is listed as a nurse on her marriage license. She married the love of her life Keith Omphroy on the 23rd of June,1954 in Kingston, Jamaica.

She attended Brooklyn Training Center in New York City, NY. She was very involved in her church The Episcopal Church of Atonement and served faithfully as her senior knitting club treasurer for many years.

Thelma Omphroy is preceded in death by her husband Keith W. Omphroy and her son Mark A.Omphroy.

Thelma Omphroy is survived by her son Robert N. Omphroy Sr., Grandchildren Anika T. Omphroy and Robert N. Omphroy, Jr. Great-Grandchildren Zoe T. Omphroy, Callie S. Omphroy and Sanai E. Omphroy and her sister in law Caroline Omphroy and wonderful nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Omphroy Sr., Robert Omphroy Jr., Varrol Bailey, Andrae Ingram, Anthony Meikle and Carey Salmon.

A visitation for Thelma will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
