

Tim, or “Timo” as he was called as a baby and by family and longtime friends was born Pembroke Pines Memorial Hospital to Timothy Schmidt Sr and Lina Velez on 9-9-05. He went to school at The University of Central Florida. He graduated from Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Florida. He worked as a bar back for Smoke on the Water Cigar Bar in Weston, Florida, for several years while also being part of a soccer referee crew with his best friends when he wasn’t in action playing himself. He was highly involved in soccer throughout his life, playing all around Florida and even as far as Hawaii for Weston Select, Plantation FC, and Weston FC. He made lifelong friendships at each soccer club and took a lot of pride keeping in touch with every person he shared the field with since age four.
Tim Jr. is preceded in death by Bradley Schmidt, Magnolia Grisales, and Alvaro Velez all grandparents.
Tim Jr. is survived by his parents, Tim Schmidt Sr. and Lina Velez, his Step-Mother, Michelle Schmidt, his beloved Uncle David Schmidt, Uncle Matthew Schmidt, and Grandmother, Lynn Schmidt, who he routinely called and shared long talks with.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Friday, November 8, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Davie Road, Davie FL. 33317
The family of Tim Jr. wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the 1,000’s of friends, family members, teammates, coaches, classmates, teachers, and peers of Tim Jr who have reached out and shared stories about what a kind soul he was. Every message has shown the massive positive impact he had on society and they were and are very much appreciated.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes any contributions to be made to the local charities they support: The Jason Taylor Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting and creating programs that facilitate the personal growth and empowerment of South Florida’s children in need by focusing on improved health care, education and quality of life, or SIDES (Sidney’s Incredible Defeat of Ewing’s Sarcoma), which is committed to helping families suffering from Ewing's Sarcoma and other pediatric cancers, while at the same time, helping fund research to find a cure for this disease.
