Yolande Bonhomme was born in Haiti to Maxi Bonhomme and Helene Cham on October 22, 1931. She married Stenio Saintilien in 1956 in Port Au Prince, Haiti. In 1964, she emigrated to the U.S. where was employed as a housekeeper. She worked hard and eventually sent for her family. She was a devoted mother and wonderful friend.
She was well-loved by many throughout Haiti, New Jersey and Florida. Yolande had a very comedic nature about her, she could make anyone laugh and brighten up their day. Her jokes, next to her cooking, will be some of everyone’s favorite memories of her. Those who were fortunate enough to taste her cooking will never forget it, every dish she made was full of passion and reminded you of home. Besides her cooking, Yolande was also known for her generous heart and hardworking spirit. To know her, is to love her and she will be missed by so many.
