Joseph Mendoza Leon

Joe Mendoza Leon, age 66, of Mohave Valley, Arizona passed away on May 20, 2023, at his residence. Born on February 17, 1957 in San Gabriel, California, Joe is the son of Mary Sotelo of Waddell AZ, and the late Joe Leon. In addition to his mother, Joe is survived by one brother, Alfred Leon and one sister; Lizzy (Henry) Juarez; one son, Joe (Trisha) Leon; two daughters, Ummie Leon and Mandy Kiskaden; one step-daughter, Christy Kissick; and eight grandchildren, Trent, Bryce, Noah, TJ, Trinity, Jack, Amador, and Ezekiel. Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Leon on January 5, 2021; and his step-father Manuel Sotelo on May 18, 2012.

Joe was a United States Army veteran, enlisting when he was 17 years old. Upon leaving his military service he was employed at McDonnell Douglas, an aircraft company in Long Beach, CA as an engine mechanic, and a former telecom worker for PK Diversified in Olive Hill, KY until his retirement. Joe was a free spirit that loved to laugh while enjoying the people around him. He had a strong faith in Christ, liked to travel, go skiing, riding motorcycles, mechanics, and he loved his children and grandchildren very much. He was greatly loved by many and will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will be held on June 4, 2023, at River Valley Tavern 8804 Hwy 95 Mohave Valley, AZ at 2 p.m. for family and friends.
