Mike (Richie) Richards, 68, passed away March 13, 2025 in Bullhead City, Arizona after suffering a heart attack. Born May 5, 1956 in Glendale, California, he grew up in Newhall and Canyon Country where he graduated from Canyon High School. He is preceded in death by his mother Yvonne Vinson, father Alfred Richards, stepmother Mary Richards and stepsister Julie. He is survived by the love of his life Shelly Richards, of Bullhead City, Arizona; daughter Danielle, son-in-law Daniel, grandsons Elijah C., Corban J., and Nekoda B. of Ridgecrest, California; son Michael Richards of Bullhead City, Arizona; stepsisters Virgina Shridar and family of Murietta, California, Mary Hethmon and family of South Jordan, Utah; and many other family and friends.
He was an eternally grateful husband, loving and supportive father, pride-of-his-life grandfather, sportsman and sports fan (Dodgers! L.A. Rams! Lakers!), adventurer, Dude, aquaphile, teacher of life lessons, green thumb, hard-working Christian man, and above all, a true friend to many in his life and others he may have only momentarily encountered on any given day. If you look in the dictionary under “brother’s keeper” you should see his picture. No stranger to hard work, Mike had many vocations in life often requiring knowledge of products or services and contact with the public. He finished work life after 28 years with AmeriPride in Lancaster, California. No stranger to hardship, he faced adversity with quiet determination, never letting difficulties sap his spirit and leaned on his faith, family and friends, and was reciprocated. He lived his life in the pursuit of purpose, positively impacting those around him. No matter how fast the world moved, he calibrated his speed to 44.
A memorial service will be conducted on March 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Amazing Grace Fellowship Church located at 4195 Lynn Drive, Fort Mohave, Arizona. A reception is to follow. His ashes will join the waves, sand, dolphins and sunsets on a Southern California beach on a date and location to be announced. All are welcome to join. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or St Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Most importantly, the easiest way to honor Richie’s life is to perform a random act of kindness for your friends, loved ones or a complete stranger in need.

I got that green light, babe
I got to keep moving on”
