

His quest for higher learning took him to Yorkshire England to study in the medical field of Nursing. Upon graduating he migrated to the United States. He believed it was the best direction.
He would soon meet his destiny in Una Lopez of Clarindon Jamaica at a banquet for the Nurses Association of New York. They were introduced by a friend of his aunt Verina Brathwaite.
Una and Carl spent the evening talking and joking. He put out his best pickup lines, but the evening ended with them parting ways. He asked his aunts associates for Una's information and in three days time, he was finally able to contact her and because she was the best catch, they were married in 1968.
He is survived by his wife Una Parris, son Adrian Parris, daughters Joanna Marie Navas-Parris, Lorraine Jessica Parris, son Richard Miller and step son Michael Halliburton. In addition his sister Yvonne and brother Othneil Parris.
With his best efforts, he supported his family and extended family as an RN at Beth Isreals and St Vincent ' s hospitals in Manhattan NY consecutively. He retired and lived out his days with his family and church family in Lehigh Acres.
He was a very generous and helpful man to his family and to others. An avid swimmer, tennis player and a self educated mechanic. He enjoyed watching boxing matches and playing dominoes.
He was a deacon, he and Una hosted many gatherings at there home. He volunteered for functions and the audio visual department as well. He was a founding member of the Lehigh Acres Seventh day Adventist Church. He loved his church family as much as his own.
His last written words, a message to us all.
"Do the best you can everyday" Because you are the best, so be the best. Not tomorrow, but today. "Do the best you can everyday"
