Mr. Richard’s, you will be missed you were a big influence in my high school years at Maple Hts high school . Being a football manager under you I learned how to deal and manage people . Thank you so much for be a great mentor and person . Rest In Peace coach .

Mrs Richards and Courtney I am so sorry for your loss! I think of you guys often!! I do go and visit with Jessie often!! Lots of memories that we made over the years when we were young all the Indians games all the swim meets and when Jesse knocked my two front teeth out in Medina country club!! Again I’m sorry for your loss

My favorite memory and lesson.  I was acting prima donna on the football practice field in 1980.  Something didn't go my way.  Pass play...I caught the ball, and while jogging back to the line, I flung the ball sideways on the ground towards our center.  Same play again.  Caught the ball, did the same thing a second time.  Same play, same act, a third time.  He came at me like Jack Lambert.  I froze.  He got to me and I said the words, "that isn't fair" about whatever it was that didn't go my way earlier.  He picked me up off of my feet by my facemask.  He gritted his teeth and said, "life isn't fair."  "Now get off the field."  I was cooked.  The next day at practice, we were sitting  doing cals, and he was the only one not out of the locker room and on the field.   What turns out to be a test for me in front of the whole world.   As he approached the field, the top of his voice echoed between the buildings from behind us, at about 40 yards away.  "SANTON!"  I had a split second decision to make.  "YES COACH?!"  "WHAT'S IT A GREAT DAY FOR?"  "FOOTBALL COACH." The practice day before was let go at that moment. He taught me immediately to never disrespect him, my other coaches, or my team ever again. That was also the last time I have ever said the words, "that isn't fair"  in my life.  Coach Richards, thank you for everything, and rest in peace.

I am so saddened by this news. Carl was a part of a lot of happy college memories. My prayers go out to his family and friends. 

My condolences to the family. Very sad to hear of his passing. He was a great guy. I have many great memories of Uncle Carl when I was growing up. Watching him play football in high school and college is wonderful memory.  He taught me many things and we always had a great time together. I think of him often. RIP

Our family was so sad to hear about Carl’s untimely death. He was a gentleman and a scholar, with a heart of gold. 
Please know that you’re all in our thoughts and prayers. 

We were saddened to hear of Carl's passing. Though our families have been separated by miles but we will always remember the wonderful  times we shared with Carl, Becky and Courtney during Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations at the Forsyth's house. 
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.

Sharing our Holidays together over the years will always be in our memory as we watched sports and had good laughs together. Carl was a wonderful guy that was loved by so many and we will all hope to see him again one day.
