Cecelia was born in Brooklyn New York; it was not long after she was born that her family moved to Chesapeake, Virginia to a small farm where she was raised and quickly grew comfortable helping on the farm. Her role on the farm as a child would mold her into becoming a homemaker, and it would eventually teach her how to embrace her role as a loving, compassionate wife and a warm and caring Mother, Grand, Great and Great-Great Grandmother. She was also passionate about Crocheting baby blankets for her children, and grandchildren as well as friends. Cecelia was swept off her feet when she met Egnazio Pignotti. The moment these two met their fate was sealed. Their relationship spiraled into a whirlwind of letters, love and laughter. Egnazio would soon leave to serve our country and during that time they exchanged many letters. He eventually made his way back to Cecelia and on August 27th, 1949, they exchanged vows, they remained blissfully married for 62 years before his passing in 2011.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Egnazio and Cecelia lived every day attesting to just how true this verse is and now they are reunited in their eternal resting place together once again with the Lord. A celebration of life was held for family and friends.
