It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rick Ludlam, a man that loved to talk—to anybody—and was always quick with a joke. Rick was born on June 1, 1946, in Glen Cove, New York, and grew up in Oyster Bay, where he formed many friendships that he held onto until the day he passed away on February 16, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida.
Through his seventy-nine years, he touched many lives with his positive spirit, his humor, and his generosity. Rick proudly served his country in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He later returned home to build a life for himself and his family. Everyone who knew him can attest to his love of music, his sense of humor, and his zest for life.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Marianne Ludlam; his sons, Bryan and Sean and Sean’s wife, Kim; his granddaughters Olivia, Emma, and Riley; and his grandson, Carter.
After a long and hard-fought battle with cancer, Rick did not want a traditional funeral service. His wishes were to be cremated and interred in Arlington National Cemetery, and his family will honor these wishes.
