
Clayton Calvin Peterson 87, passed away of natural causes at Lee Health ER in Fort Myers on April 4th. Clayton was a seasonal resident of Fort Myers and also of Chicago, Illinois. This year on May 3rd Clayton would have celebrated 50 years of marriage to Gwendoline (Wendy) Searing Peterson, his beloved spouse.
Born August 20th, 1937, in Elgin Illinois, Clayton was raised in Huntley Illinois where he excelled in baseball and basketball
. He served in the US Army 1956 -58 as a radio operator in Nuremberg Germany, His radio skills, involving Morse Code, he maintained his entire life. Upon his return home to Illinois, Clayton was hired as a Telegrapher by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He worked at CNW for 37 years where he retired from the Energy and Marketing Department as an Officer. While at CNW Clayton obtained an Associates Degree in Transportation and took various technical college classes to advance his career.
Clayton leaves behind his wife, Gwendoline Searing Peterson originally from Elmhurst Ill. and Mankato Mn, Sister Elaine Jensen of Algoma, Wisconsin, Brother-in-law Frederick Searing of Lodi, Wi (Susan), Step Daughter Cheryl Janusz (Bob Sojac) of Georgetown TX. and many, many friends.
