

Mrs. Millikin was born in New Jersey to Dorothy Kennedy Fitzgerald and Stanton Fitzgerald on Easter, April 20th, 1934 (thus the forever nickname, “Bunny”). Her family soon moved to Elyria, Ohio where she spent an idyllic childhood, graduating from Elyria High School in 1952. Dorothy graduated from Miami University in 1956, and in July of that year, married Thomas Millikin. She taught school in Reading, Ohio while her husband continued his studies at the University of Cincinnati School of Law. Upon his graduation, they settled in Hamilton, Ohio where they were blessed with three children.
Mrs. Millikin was active in Hamilton serving on the boards of The Lane Public Library, Boys Club and The Children’s Home Society where she tutored children with learning disabilities. She was also active in Girl Scouts, Y.W.C.A., Junior Woman’s League, Colleagues and Browning Club. After moving to southwest Florida, she volunteered at C.R.O.W. and Harry Chapin Food Bank.
She is survived by her daughters Malinda M. King (Jeffery) of Fort Myers, FL and Julie M. Kachic (Kenneth) of Hilliard, OH and son James F. Millikin (Tamyra) of Fort Myers, FL and her four grandchildren, Kristen King, Lindsay Kachic-Quinlin (Joshua), Rachel King, and Thomas Kachic.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Millikin, parents, grandson Andrew and sister.
