Frances (Fran) Hamilton Davidson passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, at the age of 96 in Fort Myers, Florida. She was born on November 16, 1929, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Jean and Eustace Chilton and was a graduate of South Charleston High School.
Fran married G. Clark Davidson of St. Albans, West Virginia, and together they built a life and raised two children. Frances spent much of her career in the fashion industry, working as a buyer for several upscale women’s clothing stores in Charleston. She also served as the office manager for her husband’s residential construction company.
In 1992, Fran and Clark moved from West Virginia to Florida, where she enjoyed traveling and a relaxed coastal lifestyle of boating, golfing, and spending time with her family.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Giles Davidson, and his husband, Dan Waldmann, of Pittsburgh; daughter, Gina Jensen, and her husband, John Jensen, of Fort Myers; and grandson, Johnny Jensen, a recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
A celebration of life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cafe Momentum Pittsburgh, The Gulf Coast Humane Society, or The Harry Chapin Food Bank of SW Florida. If you wish to send a card, please mail it to Gina Jensen, P.O. Box 1103, Captiva, FL 33924. Arrangements are being made by Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home of Fort Myers, FL.
