Helen Irene Sarver (Smith) was born on June 28, 1939 to Curtis Smith and his wife Irene in Parkersburg, West Virginia. {and passed away on May 17, 2021}. She lived loyal in the teachings of the United Methodist Church and remained faithful for the entirety of her life. In 1958, she married Robert Lee Sarver with whom she had 3 wonderful children. In 1967, she and her family moved from West Virginia to Florida. Along with her brother, David C Smith, she went on to build a golfing empire. She worked for US Homes as the first female Divisional Vice President. She passed away on May 17, 2021 from natural causes with family by her side.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lee and her eldest son, John Curtis. Helen is survived by her youngest son, Robert Lee Sarver II (Rebecca), daughter, Cynthia Churchward (Jack), granddaughter, Melissa Ross (Kate), eight grandchildren, and fifteen great grand children.
Helen and Robert were married for 62 years. Bob was a pilot and flew Helen around the world. But It is her faith that kept her grounded and she remained active in the community, volunteering for Interfaith Charities, sitting on their board of Directors. Outside of her philanthropy, she was both humble and bold in breaking records and living as a powerful woman in traditionally male dominated industry. She was excited about how her church was evolving to be more inclusive, proudly played bell choir for 20+ years and constantly inspired others to reflect on their faith just as she has practiced her entire life. Anyone that knew Helen knew she was the #1 Tampa Bay Bucs fan.
