James graduated from Dillard High School and went on to proudly serve in the United States Army for 24 years. He married his beloved wife Kiyo Momohara on August 30, 1956. After retiring from the military, he worked for ten years at Broward Community College. He had a passion for music and played numerous instruments including trumpet, guitar and piano.
James is survived by his daughters: Sabrina Burey and Lowanda Thompson and his siblings: Rudolph Curry, Queen Esther Curry and Willie James Curry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kiyo.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 in Fort Myers, FL on Wednesday, April 29th from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
