My name is Lona McCullough, I am James DiBiase's youngest sister, My earliest memory of Jimmy was when he got back from Korea. He tried to bring me home a monkey, but they wouldn't let him. When he got home he took me shopping and bought me my first pair of patent leather shoes. He also bought me my first two wheel bicycle, second hand but in good shape. 
I loved listening to him sing. Through the years we didn't get to be together as much as we would have liked, My husband Don was in the Air Force and we traveled a lot. We stayed close, distance didn't matter.
It was so much fun watching him sing to seniors  and do Karaoke when we visited. My brother, and my husband Don were good buddies. They liked to go fishing together.
My brother James would always buy us a lottery ticket when we were here visiting from Alaska. 
We had lunch with him at his favorite restaurant the last time we saw him. Everyone there was very nice. It was nice to see how much they loved and respected him. I loved him very much, and will keep that love forever in my heart.

My Name is Tina Ott, I am the daughter of James DiBiase, and I would like to share a memory with you. 
When I was a young girl, my dad was in a band, and he always had a dream that his daughters would grow up and be singers .LOL! He would line all four of us girls up, and play, She"ll Be Comin Round The Mountain, on his guitar. We absolutely had to sing! I always hated having to sing, but I wish my dad was here to sing with him again, one more time.
   Rest in peace dad, I love you! Till we meet again.

What a great picture that is. That is definitely the smile that I want to remember.  I met James because he was my best friend Terry's uncle. What a great guy,. Flashy dresser, a great entertainer, flirty, and loved life and his music and everyone.  I miss having those lunches with you and John and Terry at Jax, and I miss, when we both lived on the island going to hear you sing at different places. Sing for the Lord Uncle with that sweet voice of yours.  Love you like family, RIP

My memory for James DiBiase , For as long as I can remember, my Uncle Jim was a really good, and classy dresser , some would say his clothes were a little flashy .  LOL! He loved to sing and perform.
He would purchase lottery tickets and say, If I hit it big no  one in my family will want for anything! He always dreamed he would win and help his family, Uncle Jim would always talk bout his family and say that he hoped one day we could ALL be together at least one more time. My mother and  Aunt Lona adored their brother James and they were all very close .  Every weekend we would go to my Uncle Jims favorite restaurant Jax Diner ,and also see his favorite waitress Tammy.   Jax Diner employees cared very much for my Uncle, when  he entered the Diner he was treated like royalty.  He always felt very much love and respect from them all.  Well I could go on and on, I have a lifetime of good memories so… RIP my sweet Uncle and greet our loved ones that have passed, And I will see you again some day .

I am saddened to hear of the passing of James, such a character, such a sweet soul.
A few years ago, a day after Veterans Day, my favorite little 50s restaurant was packed, so I asked to sit at the counter. Next to this tiny gentleman with his Veterans ball cap on.  
We get to chatting, and he asks where I’m from, where I grew up… “oh a small town next to Hershey (PA).” Him – “you mean Palmyra?” I just about fell to the floor. My small town is some 1200 miles away. Even more so, as we chatted, he was the previous owner at the Palmyra Bowling Alley (in the 60’s), where my mom bowl in a league for years (in the 70s). And of course, James asks if my mom is single.
 
Over the years, we would look for each other for breakfast, and we would chit-chat and giggle. And fight over the bill (its my turn, no its my turn). He told me how he used to dance, his hitchhiking from Ohio to Pittsburgh top watch the Pirates games, and his neighbor down the road being Dean Martin who gave him a lift a time or two. He told me about his service in the War(s).
So kind and gracious. And so sweet. I snuck him out of the home for a Phillies vs Minnesota Twins Game (well with his niece’s permission of course). Now James is a quiet guy, but he has the "it" factor in personality. But the respect he received as a stand out with his Veterans ballcap, we had great seats & everywhere he went he got a salute or a high-five or a Thank You. I was humbled being there.

Guess that’s where I am today. Many times, people cross your path, for whatever reason. I feel it was destiny for James & I to meet. So, Thank You, James, for the short time we knew each other, for your kindness, laughter and friendship. And stop flirting with those Angels, James. They have work to do. 

But please save me a seat like old times.
