John A Copeland

John Allen Copeland, 92, of Fort Myers FL passed away on January 30, 2016. Beloved by family and friends he will be remembered for his strength of character, love of family, leadership capabilities and loyalty to friends. John was preceded in death by the love of his life, Lois Hansen Copeland, as well as his son Jack. Formerly of Hinsdale Illinois, John was highly regarded as a leader in the meat industry and reached his career goal as President and CEO of the Swift Independent Packing Company. After retirement John and Lois enjoyed living at The Forrest Country Club where John served as President of The Forest Country Club. John is survived by his sons Wade (Bonnie) and Victor (Mary Beth): daughter in law, Rhonda: eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. John was a faithful member and board member of The Chapel of Cypress Cove. There will be a memorial service and reception to honor John's memory at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 13 in the Edison Room at Cypress Cove Retirement Community in Fort Myers FL. In lier of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers FL 33908.
